Transform launch Blueprint for Regulation1.40.42pm GMT Thu 19th Nov 2009 Last week the Transform Drug Policy Foundation launched their book: "After the War on Drugs: Blueprint for Regulation" at simultaneous events around the globe. At the launch at the House of Commons the book received high praise from Ms. Robin Gorna, (Executive Director, International AIDS Society), Professor Rod Morgan (former Chair, Youth Justice Board) and Dr Ben Goldacre (Guardian 'Bad Science' Columnist). Having attended the event and read the book, I can confirm that it will be a vital tool in guiding the transition to a strictly regulated legal market. It will reassure any reader that reform is the sober, rational course rather than a dangerous, radical, bringer of anarchy as some would characterise the argument. I recommend reading the book. It might take you a while, but it is well worth the effort. The pdf can be downloaded from the Transform website: www.tdpf.org.uk I have prepared a brief discussion document in response to the book, that I have made available in the newly created "After the War on Drugs: Blueprint for Regulation" forum. I understand the ID card proposals may be controversial, and would be delighted to drop those proposals were another equally effective policy to be presented.
